Works at height always involve risks. Therefore, scaffolding is the industry with one of the strictest health and safety regulations. Companies engaged in these services must take special training for their operatives and have the relevant certification.
So, when selecting a scaffold contractor, make sure you are going to deal with an approved one. Ask what CISRS cards its scaffolders have got:
- CISRS Scaffolder card is a must if you need a system or simple tubular scaffold structure, including the stages made of pre-fabricated beams and roof scaffolds
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card is a must if you need a custom and complex scaffold structure, which is typically made from galvanized tubes and fittings
Also, site operatives that work as labourers or trainee scaffolders must have relevant CISRS Labourer or Trainee scaffolder cards.
